The Department of Early Childhood, Special Education, and Counselor Education invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in DeafBlindness. This Clinical title series, non-tenure eligible position is a 12-month appointment, effective August 16, 2025.
Responsibilities will be divided between teaching and administration with faculty in this position typically expected to teach a 1-2 course load for the following courses related to the DeafBlind Certificate program:
- IEC 510 - Practicum for Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education
- IEC 547 - Addressing Communication Needs for Learners who are DeafBlind
- IEC 548 - Assessment and Intervention Planning for Learners who are DeafBlind
Other responsibilities include:
- Administer and provide oversight for all activities associated with the Kentucky DeafBlind Project related to providing technical assistance and training, family support, and interagency collaboration;
- Seek extramural funding for grants associated with serving children and youths who are DeafBlind;
- Provide service to the department, and profession.
