About This Department

The mission of the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies is to advance our communities through research, teaching, and service activities that reflect our commitment to excellence, innovation, and transformation. The college is dedicated to continually improving the lives of our communities – those groups of people linked by diverse needs, affiliation, or purpose – through culturally-affirming research, teaching, and service. DCEPS is a premier leader in preparing individuals for professions in education, industry, service, and clinical environments.

The Educational Foundations & Leadership department consists of nationally recognized faculty whose mission is to prepare leaders and researchers and to contribute to scholarship in our respective fields. The EFL department houses four vibrant Ph.D. programs in the areas of PK-12 Leadership, Higher Education, Community College Leadership, and Educational Psychology and Program Evaluation, as well as innovative Educational Leadership master’s programs with concentrations in PK-12 Leadership and Higher Education.
