Dr. Calderone studies postsecondary access and opportunity. Her research focuses on the impact of trust, risk, and stress on students’ and families’ college-going and retention/persistence decisions. This work includes research on the role of social and relational trust in the creation of postsecondary options for families, financial literacy as a tool for leveling the college-going playing field, as well as perceptions of risk and the related financial stressors associated with college affordability.
