  • I am a student-focused, results-oriented administrator and curriculum development specialist. As a result of my extensive professional administrative background, I am adept at analyzing and solving problems. I have strong communication skills and a proven ability to lead through innovation, collaboration and change. My current research focuses on incorporating anti-oppressive principles into public health research, teaching and practice. In addition to my training in Higher Education Administration, I have served as residence director, director of academic enrichment, instructor, mentor, and curriculum developer. I believe the primary purpose of education is to prepare individuals to critically analyze the world, see themselves capable of making positive change and feel motivated to take action. I begin the curriculum development process with a full exploration of the characteristics and needs of the students, followed by a clear description of the desired changes in students’ knowledge, skills and abilities. I put structures in place that allow students to apply what they are learning to their current knowledge and prior experience. I develop clear learning outcomes and design relevant and engaging learning strategies which pave the way for appropriate evaluation methods. My goal is to help students develop the knowledge and skills required to make the change they wish to see in their work, their communities and the world.
