My research interests focus on leadership activities within large comprehensive and urban high schools that promote equitable learning opportunities and social justice for students of color and other traditionally under-served populations. Specifically I focus on leadership activities in the following areas:
Fostering success for 9th graders of color as they enter high school
Positioning upperclassmen of color as leaders within their schools
Creating spaces for teachers and other staff members to collaboratively meet the needs of traditionally under-served students
Increasing opportunities for community members and agencies to engage in leadership within schools
