Dr. Martin is a philosopher whose areas of interest in teaching and scholarship include human symbolic capacities, pedagogical methodologies, foundations, school violence, classroom management, and field-based teacher preparation issues. He is on the editorial boards of Action in Teacher Education, SRATE Journal, and The Teacher Educators Journal. In addition, he serves on two national committees for the Association of Teacher Educators. He has also served as speaker and consultant to various media, law enforcement, state education, and state criminal justice agencies.
