As a feminist critical scholar-activist with a focus in teacher education, my research goals are to sustain hope by creating more equitable outcomes in K-18 schools. Toward this end, I have focused my research in three closely intertwined areas of (1) young men and women’s agency to survive and thrive in school structures that do not support them, (2) policy and practices in K-18 education as a place to battle and change inequities that exist, and (3) teacher education as a site to name inequities and create spaces in practices and policies to take action to eliminate inequities.
