My specialization is Teacher Education, with an emphasis on Secondary Education. I am certified at secondary school level in Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies and taught in a one room school in rural Alaska for a number of years, an experience which deeply informs my work with pre-service secondary teachers. My research interests focus on deploying tools for effective teacher learning, including Japanese Lesson Study, action research, and peer coaching. I also study the implications on educational practices of Gilles Deleuze, the French philosopher whose wide-ranging thought provides new views of the educational terrain.
